This Website is dedicated to the memory of my Great Uncle Nickolas Muray, (1892-1965). One of the great portrait photographers of the 1920’s and ’30’s. He was especially famous for his portraits of celebrities. It was his unique ability of capturing the spirits of his subjects while making them so comfortable, they were almost unaware they were being photographed. That, was considered phenomenal! Nick’s photographs appeared regularly in Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazar. It was his book, “The Revealing Eye” Celebrity Portraits of the 20’s and 30’s that influenced me as a photographer and also for the title of my website.
